do you take iNSURANCE?

We do not belong to any insurance panels.  This does not necessarily mean your insurance will not cover the services provided. You must check with your insurance carrier to see if you can choose your own provider and what your reimbursement for services will be. You are responsible for full payment at the time of your appointment and will be provided a superbill which you can then submit to your insurance carrier for direct reimbursement.

Do I have to come in to the office for therapy?

No. Coming into the office is optional. So many of our clients prefer and are comfortable with teletherapy (over the phone or computer). In the day and age of Skype, FaceTime and extremely busy schedules, teletherapy may work better for you. It is about what you feel comfortable with and what works well for your schedule.

Is therapy confidential?

In general, the law protects the confidentiality of all communications between a client and a psychotherapist. Information is not disclosed without written permission. However, there are three exceptions to this rule. Exceptions include:

  1. If there is suspected child abuse or dependent adult or elder abuse, the therapist is required by law to report this to the appropriate authorities immediately.

  2. If a client is threatening serious bodily harm to another person/s, the therapist must notify the police and inform the intended victim.

  3. If a client intends to harm himself or herself, the therapist will make every effort to enlist their cooperation in insuring their safety. If they do not cooperate, further measures may be taken without their permission in order to ensure their safety.
